Welcome to Coatdyke Congregational Church Online!
We meet for worship on Sunday mornings at 11.00 am. Our Church is a broad church, meaning that we cater for all ages and all traditions, we have infants, toddlers, teenagers and we have veteran members, some of whom can trace their family connection right back to our origins in 1911. Why not come along and see for yourself, you can be assured of a hale and hearty welcome.
Coatdyke has a Sunday Club and Bible Class (Sunday School) for children and teenagers, along with being home to the 8th Airdrie Girls' Brigade Company run by the exuberant and bubbly Captains Carr and Truesdale and their very able assistants. Our Girls’ Brigade Company is currently bursting at the seams as our premises are small but our aspirations are big! This well run and fun group of Brigaders and Officers all hold current Enhanced Disclosure Certificates, so you can be assured we have all been thoroughly vetted to work with your children.
Coatdyke has an active Women’s Group which meets monthly on a Wednesday night. The syllabus of this group is always changing; from Beetle Drives to a trip to the Pantomime in
On a Tuesday and Thursday night of each week, members of the church and community get together and enjoy Line Dancing in the church hall. A modest entry fee assures you of sore legs, hips and sweat after the nights over but my goodness, how good you feel after it! (So I’ve been told)
From time to time we hold special services in the Church for various organisations within the Community. We would like to see ourselves as a church that not only serves her members but the area of Airdrie and her surrounds. We can offer advice on weddings and baptisms just fill out the Contact Form and someone will be in touch.
At Coatdyke we have a special area laid out as a
Coatdyke is a church within the Reformed Protestant tradition, Congregational in polity but our worship is not dissimilar to that of the Church of Scotland or United Reformed Church. We welcome everyone at Coatdyke and we hope that perhaps one day you will take time to call in and see us. You will be made very welcome. We are part of the Congregational Federation in Great Britain and of CF Scotland
We are not perfect and we don’t want to give the impression that we are, we just try to be honest. We can with conviction proclaim that you will receive a hearty welcome if you decide to visit us for worship and if you do come in to see us, please introduce yourself to the Minister or whoever greets you at the door. Come please, come as a stranger but depart as a friend….
