Interesting facts -

1. 8th Airdrie is part of Monklands Division which covers Airdrie and Coatbridge. It has 11 companies linked to various churches throughout.We are proud to be part of Coatdyke Congregational Church.Our company night is a Monday from 6.15pm until 9pm.

2. 8th Airdrie will be 65 years old this year.

3.We returned after our Summer break a few weeks ago on Monday 25th August and have 55 girls on our books. This year we have only been able to enrol Explorers as our other sections are full. At present we have - : 15 Explorers 27 Juniors 13 Brigaders

4. We have 15 Officers and helpers. Mrs Andrea Burns and Miss Lorna Melvin have joined us this year as helpers.Mrs Joyce Carr (former captain) & Miss Margaret McGuinness(Church Secretary & former officer) are also around to help with administration duties on a Monday night. All in all a full wee church!

5. Mrs Lynn Balmer will be commissioned as our new officer this October in St Andrews Church, Coatbridge on 26th October at 7.30pm and Miss Linzi Charnley is to commence her officer training. Well done to both.

6. We have 3 girls participating in the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and soon to complete bronze.

7. We have been invited to take part in the "The Coatdyke Variety Show" to be held in our church building in November so any Junior or Brigader who is interested in participating should attend the singing rehearsals in the Church commencing Wednesday 24th Sept. from 6.30-7.30pm.
