Coatdyke has celebrated its Centenary in style from the opening services in January with the church being re-dedicated at the morning service and in the afternoon the Rev James Smith TD MBE of Ardrossan Church leading us in worship.
Our next big event was the Centenary dance held on the 2ndDecember, when some special guests were invited along who took part in the opening ceremony; Revs Jim Smith, May-Kane Logan, Susan Durham were invited to attend our dance as they had contributed to the opening service. Unfortunately Sheena Brown from Shotts could not be with us as her husband Eddie is seriously ill and our thoughts are with them at this time.
On Sunday 3rdDecember the Rev Michael Heaney General Secretary and his wife Rose are joining us, for the dance and on Sunday, Michael and Tom will be leading worship at the closing service of our Centenary – closing the celebrations and allowing us to go forward in the future to celebrate the next 100 years.
It has been a whirlwind of a time but it’s good to share our success story with others and for others to see how one of the Scottish churches operates and to rejoice in our successes.
